Does Your Domain Name Age Matter? Not As Much As You Might Think?
If you’ve ever taken the time to speak with someone who thinks they’re God’s Gift to SEO they’ll tell you that your domain name age is extremely important. However, after dealing with several successful SEO campaigns of my own, I think it goes deeper than that. Your Domain Link Age is what really matters.
In other words.. how old is the domain name of the website that is linking to your site (we better be talking about a one-way link too) and how long has this link been established? Add an additional 10 points if the linking website is a .EDU or .GOV domain. But, seriously all things set aside… If you are looking into buying an old domain name for SEO reasons, domain name age isn’t a good reason. What you would want to do is to purchase a domain name that has a decent amount of back links. Read More→

Does Your Web Presence Do Your Company Justice?
Have you ever shopped online for a particular product, service, or took the time to research a company you’re interested in only to see their website is full of hard lines, poor contrasting, and sloppy design? Why is that?
Why are there companies that have hundreds of thousands in revenue, but don’t even have the most basic web standards under control? You know what I am talking about, we have all seen them. Websites that come across looking like something that was designed by “the design student nephew” or a DIY (do it yourselfer) with more ambition than pride.
Needless to say, companies that end up in this rut suffer from something that I’d like to call “Web dwarfism”. It’s when your web presence is so dreadful you’re actually at a disadvantage by simply having a website.
So what is the solution, you ask? The short answer would be.. SHUT IT DOWN! By putting up a website that you know is not satisfactory you’re leaving your company open to criticism that may not be deserved. Your best bet would be to create an entirely new website that is fitting to your brand. If you’re part of a smart, chic organization… shouldn’t your website say… “we’re smart & chic”?
Just as if you’re a part of a powerhouse professional services firm, your website needs to reflect that. If you have a web presence or are looking to have a web presence, you should take the time to figure out exactly what your website should say when someone is looking for your product, service, or just researching your company.
